My youngest daughter was born with severe egg, dairy, and soy allergies. We did not recognize the diagnosis or seriousness of her allergy until she was 7 months old. Our pediatrician was treating each symptom separately: extreme colic, severe ectopic dermatitis, and bloody stools. Fortunately, we were referred to an amazing allergist. With much deliberation, I decided to stop breastfeeding and start a specialty formula. Our kid is currently 16 and thriving as she has outgrown her food allergies (although she hates eggs).
In 2018, I took a position as a dietitian at a specialty sleep-away camp and was quickly introduced to the vast world of food allergies. I quickly discovered the little support that food allergy kids and teens had in terms of nutrition, and saw firsthand the challenges and stress they and their families faced. It was then I decided to make it my mission to improve their quality of life by providing education and holistic, family-centered support to empower those individuals diagnosed with food allergies.
I believe managing food allergies goes beyond simply avoiding trigger foods—it’s about educating and empowering children and their families to live confidently and enjoy a fulfilling life.
That’s why I work closely with each family to develop customized strategies that create a positive relationship with food. Together, we move past keeping your child safe and help them face their allergy confidently.
I hold a Master of Science in Nutrition and Health Promotion from Simmons University (2023) and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science from Russell Sage College (1996). To further specialize in food allergies, I earned a Certificate of Training in Pediatric Food Allergy from Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE). I’m also a Registered Dietitian with over 25 years of experience in clinical and community nutritional fields, including six years as a food allergy director at a camp kitchen known for its inclusive, allergen-friendly practices.
